AC Milan planning €60m in sales to fund Ibrahimovic move

AC Milan are serious in their pursuit to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic and plan to gather 60 million to invest on the January market.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic is the big dream of the Rossoneri fans. Because no one, in recent years, has left his mark like him with the Red and Black jersey. The giant Swede continues to occupy Milan’s thoughts. But in order to sign the 38-year-old striker AC Milan will have to make sacrifices reports La Gazzetta dello Sport. Translated: sell other players.

The main candidates to leave Milanello in January are Ricardo Rodriguez, Borini and Kessie. Finding an accommodation for these three players would allow the managers of via Aldo Rossi to have at least 60 million, savings on salaries (gross) including: a total of 35 million that could come from the Ivorian, another 10 from the Italian forward and over 17 from the possible sale of the Swiss fullback.

Milan is trying to understand whether this resources will indeed be available in January. Rodriguez has lost his starting place on the left with Theo Hernandez the undisputed starter now. Borini on the other hand has never been part of the starting eleven since his arrival in 2017.

Franck Kessie was not called up for Juventus-Milan for technical reasons but the Ivorian midfielder continues to not behave very well at Milanello. According to Di Marzio, his attitude has led to conflicts between him and Maldini. In addition, the quarrel with Lucas Biglia last year during the derby is still an open wound. This is why the former Atalanta is always on the market.

Ibrahimovic has some reservations about the possibility of returning to AC Milan (he doesn’t want to ruin the memories that the fans have of him), but the idea of getting back into the game stimulates him a lot. Milan could offer Zlatan a two-year contract of around €4 million per season. Would it make sense, asks Gazzetta, to offer a biennial to a player who will turn forty in 2021? The problem is that Ibra would hardly accept a shorter contract.
